MISSION STATEMENT

My aim, since starting the business in a full time capacity in 1980, has been to provide the best service possible for my customers. I can do this because for the most part it is a labour of love. From designing the covers and postmarks to their despatch to you the customer I endeavour to strive for the highest standards.

This business evolved from my childhood love of stamps. After all these years, I still have that love and enthusiasm for first day covers. Like many stamp dealers I started the business on a part-time basis, my full time job being with the City Treasurer's Department at Leicester City Council. In 1980 I decided to take a gamble and go full time into the world of first day covers.

My role is to design the covers, postmarks, monthly newsletters and adverts. I have also taken a very active role in setting up this new website. It is my responsibility to keep on top of an ever increasing work load of new stamp issues and all the organisation which that entails, there are always deadlines to keep. More recently I have also designed a number of special Stamp Sheets (often referred to as 'Smilers' sheets). This side of the business has almost taken over from the first day covers which I now limit to increasingly smaller print-runs.

To produce all of these covers, and more recently, stamp sheets requires much research which is where my wife, Sue helps out enormously. As you can imagine this is quite time consuming.

Maureen, logs all the orders on to the computer database and looks after all the future issues. She also deals with the orders for stock items (first day covers and stamp sheets) and their despatch - we do our best to ensure that all stock items are despatched on the same day we receive the orders (Monday to Friday). Maureen also looks after any customer order enquiries, and sticks all the stamps on to the first day covers. She has worked with me since 1987 and keeps everything running smoothly when I am away from the office.

We work very much as a team and normally manage to despatch our new issues on the issue date - we achieve this through dedication and determination in the knowledge that it is greatly appreciated by our customers, some of whom have been collecting our covers since the business started.

If you do not find what you are looking for then please do email us as we have a good stocks of other covers not yet listed. It is my intention to add to this list on a regular basis - not just the new issues but also many more stock items.
